Description

These crispy, cheesy broccoli tots are a fun and healthy way to enjoy veggies! Made with simple ingredients and baked to golden perfection, they’re perfect as a snack, side dish, or appetizer—and a hit with both kids and adults.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely chopped fresh or frozen broccoli (steamed and drained)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/4 cup grated or finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated parmesan, herbs, red pepper flakes for added flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking oil.
  2. Steam or blanch broccoli until tender. Chop finely or pulse in a food processor.
  3. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, eggs, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of mixture and form into small tots using your hands.
  5. Place tots on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray with oil if desired.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes.
  • Squeeze out moisture from broccoli to avoid soggy tots.
  • Add other veggies like shredded carrots or zucchini for variety.
