Description

These Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites are the ultimate crispy, gooey snack! Made with creamy mozzarella and sharp Parmesan, coated in seasoned breadcrumbs, then baked, fried, or air-fried until golden and melty. Perfect for parties, game day, or whenever your cheese cravings hit. Easy to make ahead and totally crowd-pleasing, this cheesy appetizer disappears fast.

Ingredients

  • Mozzarella cheese (bite-size cubes or mini balls, preferably low-moisture)
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • All-purpose flour
  • Eggs (beaten)
  • Italian-style breadcrumbs or panko
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Oil for frying (or cooking spray for baking)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a dredging station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan and seasonings.
  2. Coat mozzarella in flour, dip in egg, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Place on a tray and freeze for 30 minutes to help prevent cheese from leaking during cooking.
  4. To Fry:
    4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry bites in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. To Bake:
    4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Spray bites with cooking spray and bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. To Air Fry:
    4. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway.
  7. Serve hot with dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or garlic aioli.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try smoked mozzarella or add red pepper flakes to the coating.
  • Add a surprise center like pepperoni or jalapeño slices.
  • Truffle oil mixed into the cheese gives a gourmet twist.
  • Use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs for a GF version.
  • Best served immediately for the crispiest bite.
