Description

This Easy One-Pot Cheesy Beef Lasagna Skillet delivers all the rich, comforting flavors of classic lasagna in a fast, weeknight-friendly one-pan meal. Made with seasoned ground beef, crushed tomatoes, tender noodles, and melted cheeses, it’s the ultimate comfort food—without the layering, baking, or cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes or 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups water or beef broth
  • 68 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

  2. Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and Italian seasoning.

  3. Add tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Stir and let cook for 1–2 minutes.

  4. Pour in water or broth and bring to a simmer.

  5. Add broken lasagna noodles, ensuring they are mostly submerged.

  6. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender and sauce has thickened.

  7. Stir in ricotta, if using. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan.

  8. Cover and cook another 3–5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Garnish with chopped basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute ground beef with turkey, sausage, lentils, or mushrooms.
  • Add vegetables like spinach or zucchini for extra nutrition.
  • Use red pepper flakes or spicy sausage for heat.
  • Replace lasagna noodles with any short pasta if needed.
  • Skillet reheats well with a splash of water to keep noodles soft.
