Description

This Homemade Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea is a cozy, comforting blend of black tea, warming cinnamon, and smooth vanilla. Whether enjoyed hot or iced, this aromatic drink is easy to make and deeply soothing. It’s the perfect tea latte for quiet mornings, relaxing evenings, or a sweet midday pick-me-up.

Ingredients

  • 2 black tea bags (English Breakfast or Assam recommended)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup whole milk or milk of choice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (or to taste)
  • 12 tsp honey, maple syrup, or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice (for iced version)

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan.
  2. Add tea bags and cinnamon (stick or ground). Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags and cinnamon stick (if used).
  4. Stir in milk, vanilla extract, and sweetener of choice.
  5. Gently heat until warm (for hot tea) or let cool slightly (for iced).
  6. For hot tea: pour into mugs and top with a pinch of cinnamon, if desired.
  7. For iced tea: pour over ice in a tall glass and stir to chill.

Notes

  • Use oat or almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg, cardamom, or fresh ginger for extra spice.
  • Sub in rooibos tea for a caffeine-free option.
  • Froth the milk before adding for a barista-style finish.
  • Store extra milk tea in the fridge for up to 2 days.
