Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar (optional)
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Sear chicken for 5–7 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Lower the heat and add garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, water, and vinegar (if using). Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- For a thicker glaze, mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the sauce. Simmer until thickened.
- Return chicken to the pan, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for another minute to coat.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions and serve warm.
Notes
- Add chili flakes or sriracha for a spicy kick.
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier variation.
- Marinate chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking for deeper flavor.
- Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, or in wraps.
