- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 6 slices provolone cheese (or 1 1/2 cups shredded)
- 4–6 hoagie rolls, hamburger buns, or sandwich rolls

Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers for 5 minutes, until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup (if using). Simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat and add provolone. Stir gently until melted and combined.
- Toast buns in a skillet with butter or oil until golden.
- Spoon meat mixture onto toasted buns and serve hot.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Add mushrooms or cream cheese for extra richness.
- For low-carb, serve over roasted vegetables or in lettuce wraps.
- Mozzarella, cheddar, or white American cheese also work well.
- Double the recipe and freeze half for future meals.
