Description

Strawberry Banana Pudding is a creamy, fruity dessert that layers fresh strawberries, ripe bananas, vanilla pudding, and vanilla wafers into a chilled treat that’s both nostalgic and refreshing. It’s an easy, no-bake dessert perfect for gatherings, potlucks, or a sweet ending to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 34 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • Optional: extra whipped topping and crushed wafers for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
  2. Gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined and smooth.
  3. In a large trifle dish or 9×13-inch baking dish, start layering the ingredients:
    • First, add a layer of vanilla wafers.
    • Next, layer sliced bananas and strawberries.
    • Then, spread a layer of pudding mixture.
  4. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding on top.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften.
  6. Before serving, garnish with additional whipped topping, sliced strawberries, banana coins, and crushed vanilla wafers if desired.

Notes

  • For homemade flavor, use made-from-scratch vanilla or banana pudding.
  • To prevent banana browning, slice just before assembling or toss with a bit of lemon juice.
  • Add chocolate pudding or a drizzle of chocolate syrup for a twist.
  • Top with chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Best served within 2-3 days for optimal texture and flavor.
