Description
Strawberry Banana Pudding is a creamy, fruity dessert that layers fresh strawberries, ripe bananas, vanilla pudding, and vanilla wafers into a chilled treat that’s both nostalgic and refreshing. It’s an easy, no-bake dessert perfect for gatherings, potlucks, or a sweet ending to any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
- 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 box vanilla wafers
- Optional: extra whipped topping and crushed wafers for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined and smooth.
- In a large trifle dish or 9×13-inch baking dish, start layering the ingredients:
- First, add a layer of vanilla wafers.
- Next, layer sliced bananas and strawberries.
- Then, spread a layer of pudding mixture.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften.
- Before serving, garnish with additional whipped topping, sliced strawberries, banana coins, and crushed vanilla wafers if desired.
Notes
- For homemade flavor, use made-from-scratch vanilla or banana pudding.
- To prevent banana browning, slice just before assembling or toss with a bit of lemon juice.
- Add chocolate pudding or a drizzle of chocolate syrup for a twist.
- Top with chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for crunch.
- Best served within 2-3 days for optimal texture and flavor.
