Description

This Strawberry Matcha Latte is a refreshing, café-style drink layered with sweet strawberry puree, creamy milk, and earthy matcha. Beautifully vibrant and incredibly easy to make at home, it’s the perfect balance of fruity and bold flavors—ideal for iced or hot sipping.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 12 tsp sugar or honey (to taste)
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (whole, oat, almond, etc.)
  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling)
  • Ice (for iced version)

Instructions

  1. Make the strawberry layer:
  2. In a blender or small saucepan, combine chopped strawberries and sugar or honey.
  3. Blend until smooth or simmer until syrupy (about 5 minutes), then let cool.
  4. Assemble the latte (iced version):
    3. Fill a tall glass with ice.
    4. Spoon strawberry puree into the bottom of the glass.
    5. Slowly pour milk over the strawberry layer to keep the layers distinct.
  5. Prepare the matcha:
    6. In a small bowl, whisk matcha with hot water until fully dissolved and frothy.
    7. Gently pour matcha over the milk layer to create a beautiful layered effect.
  6. For a hot version:
    8. Warm the milk with strawberry puree. Pour into a mug and top with whisked matcha.

Notes

  • Strain strawberry puree for a smoother texture.
  • Use vanilla or coconut milk for added flavor.
  • Adjust matcha strength to taste.
  • Use thawed frozen strawberries or substitute strawberry jam in a pinch.
  • Pour layers slowly over the back of a spoon for a clean layered look.
