Description

Sweet Cinnamon Air Fryer Banana Chips are a healthy, crispy snack made from naturally sweet bananas and warm cinnamon—no added oil required! These gluten-free, vegan chips are easy to make in under 30 minutes, perfect for clean snacking or adding to trail mix and smoothie bowls.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe but firm bananas
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Optional:

  • 1 tsp coconut sugar or a light drizzle of maple syrup (for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prep the bananas: Peel and slice bananas into thin, even rounds—about ⅛ inch thick for crispier chips.
  2. Add flavor: In a bowl, gently toss the slices with lemon juice and cinnamon. Add coconut sugar or maple syrup if desired.
  3. Air fry: Arrange banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (no overlapping). Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway. Watch closely at the end to prevent burning.
  4. Cool: Let banana chips cool on a rack or plate for 5–10 minutes. They crisp up more as they cool.
  5. Serve or store: Enjoy immediately or store once completely cooled.

Notes

  • Extra crispy: Slice bananas ultra-thin and extend cooking by 2–3 minutes if needed.
  • Spiced version: Add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice.
  • Savory version: Skip cinnamon and use sea salt and smoked paprika for a salty twist.
  • Caramelized: Toss banana slices in maple syrup and cinnamon for a sweet glaze before air frying.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temp up to 3 days. Re-crisp in air fryer for 2–3 minutes if needed.
